NEW RECRUIT:
- Mr O.
Hyper modern, deeply textured and exotic melodic-glitch from South London based Mr O. Having been slowly building up a bit of a back catalogue of material and live dates over the last few years, Bit-P's ears were pricked up by the talents of this guy and quickly coaxed him in for a serious of live dates. Bit-P is pleased and proud to officially welcome Mr O under our umbrella.
THE VETERANS:
- Jilk.
Domestic folk-tronic ambience... with balls. Bristol based, but Midland born Jilk fuses a bewildering collage of homefound sounds with the ambient sound scapes of washy synths, insect-like clicks & cuts, and basslines to get any heads-a-bobbing. Frequently joined live with an Accompanying fairy-princess live electro/acoustic Violinist (The one and only Tulin-Fée), Jilk's live sound has developed in to a warm womb of something very special. The sound of Jellybabies in Tin-wellington boots at an arctic rave, you might say!? Crowds at line-up appearances with the likes of Luke Vibert, Shitmat and headlining slots at 93Ft East & 333 in Shoreditch, may also agree.
- T-toe.
The heart of a D'n'B raver, youth of a marching band and classically training, and the greatest lost pop melodies have all brewed together to form T-toe, your friendly local, electro-Breakcore/Dubstep-Trombonist! (Yes, ANOTHER one! ;-D) Expertly produced but with his tongue firmly in cheek (when not down the trombone), T-toe has been solidifying his reputation as a future force to be reckoned with thanks to some amazing support slots with the likes of Plaid, Radioactive Man and Si Begg and many other memorable gigs in 2007.
- IJO.
Lithuania's finest export, and something of an upcoming legend back in his home country, IJO (pronounced: "Ee-yo") planted lasting impressions on his home turf with his brooding Acid-Jazz, dark ambiance and spiralling, killer Drill & Bass, partly thanks to several digital-label releases in Europe and support slots with legends like Ceephax Acid Crew, Murcof, Funkstörung, and The Doubtful Guest. In 2006, IJO decided to give London a try, and thus very competantly brings a welcome injection of balls & courage the Bit-P line-up.
- Tulin-Fée.
Classical solo violin squares up to cut'n'paste-tronica. A formal, musical education clashing with the rebelion & freedom of modern electronic textures which form Echoes of Steve Reich, but in an undeniably unqiue form. As a frequenting guest of a certain Mr Jilk, our dear Tulin-Fée ("Tulin" like Tulip. "Fée" like "Fay" or, more specifically like the "Feh-" in "Ferry" - It's French for "Fairy"!) supplies a charmingly "plugged" injection of acoustic classical/folk to his soundscapes, but her time to go solo is now.
- Portmanteau.
Two men in the form of a blur of clashing neon electro dittos of Oxfordshire heritage but current Bristol dwellings. Having come to Bit-P's attention courtesy of a bewildering set at Clean 3, we swiftly kidnapped Portmanteau, squeezed them on to bills with A Guy Called Gerald and Kid Carpet amongst others, and moulded them as one of our own.
- Hector Osbert.
The sonic equivilant of a cute kitten with ADD pissing around with a ball of wool. Possibly Egypts only electronic export... Punk-at-heart Hector Osbert scratches, crawls, licks and oozes his way through a sonic rainbow, aided with *gasp* a guitar!
- Black Victory.
He comes from a future were Michael J Fox races Robocop on hoverboards, and where a car is simply not-pimped unless it has a chrome finished flux-capacator with embossed logoing... Or, err... a little north of Manchester. Where ever he is from... the beats are dirty, the drops are sexy and the kicks are charged with more volts than aforementioned flux-capacator! Bit-P is proud to have Black Victory as our honorary Northener!
Bit-Phalanx Resident DJ:
- DJ star delta.
With a deep passion for djing vinyl, star delta has developed his own style of mixing electronica. Not happy with blending or cutting the tracks like most other electronica djs he has taken many hours working out a system where every tune can be beat matched perfectly staying true to his roots as a dj opposed to a selector. Though loving electronica in all its forms star delta describes his sound as melodic electronic, playing tunes that are crunchy, off beat, quirky, tuneful and still large enough to be played in night clubs.
Bit-P Resident VJ:
- VJ ODL.
After coming on-board last minute for Bit-P's debut London showcase, ODL left all awestruck with a stunning array or mind-melting acidic visuals that flew us over city-scapes, warped squirrels beyond recognition, made Elephants dance to breakcore and everything in between. West London's very own premier VJ found a rightful Umbrella to perch under as Bit-P's latest recruit and very own resident VJ.
