Hi there! I'm a communications guy. Some people call 'em deejays, but I think those are the peeps who spin tunes at dance clubs and at weddings. Is it pretentious that I prefer "on-air personality"? We do more than play music. Now, I am molding the minds and skills of Austin youth as an instructor with a broadcast school, and work weekends on a "Mix" music format.I got to meet lots of celebrities, from BB King to Zakk Wylde to Tommy Chong to Hulk Hogan (see my pics page). I guess that I am somewhat private; I don't need a crowd to have a good time; really enjoy photography and passionate about music. Okay, that's an understatement - I have a "rock" room in my apartment with autographed guitars, posters and photos and a pretty extensive CD collection.I am a hockey nut and huge football fan. Originally from Pittsburgh, I bleed Black and Gold and root for my hometown teams.People tell me I have a big heart. Love dogs. I'm close with my family. Have a group of good friends we call The Idiot Squad, whom I've known for 24 years.

My Interests

Movies, sports, music, photography. My charity of choice is the American Cancer Society - I've hosted fundraisers for the Relay for Life event. I lost my Godfather Tony, my good friend Dave (only 33 at that time) and both his parents, and the father of two good friends Joe & Dave. So, it's a charity close to my heart.

I'd like to meet:

Music is my soul.I respect an intelligent woman who loves music and has an opinion. With my twisted sense of humor, it's rare to meet someone who "gets it". But, I am hopeful she's out there.

Music:

I was definitely born a generation too late, because I like the classic rockers...Allman Brothers, Hendrix, Cream, Zeppelin, and Kiss. But, I also like some of the contemporaries...Gov't Mule, North Mississippi All-Stars, Drive-by Truckers, etc. Been to NYC, Vegas, Memphis, Chicago, Live Oak, FL, Asheville, NC and Bonnaroo to see live music; I take vacation days to see tunes in other cities.

Movies:

Comedy flicks like Stripes, Animal House, and The Big Lebowski...dramas like Pulp Fiction, Rudy, and Saving Private Ryan...action flicks like, that one where they blow up lots of stuff!

Television:

The Shield, Life (the NBC show), Deadwood (now dead on HBO), stuff on the Ovation channel (music), and SportsCenter. I'm such a dude!

Books:

Tell ya the truth, I'm not a big reader. Not that I didn't graj-i-tate from no college or nuthin'...cause I did. Maybe just because I have no attention span to read novels.

Heroes:

My all-time personal heroes are my parents Mike & Judi (married over 40 years). Sports heroes are mostly Pittsburgh fellas - Willie Stargell, Mario Lemieux, and Jack Lambert. Music heroes BB King, Warren Haynes, Zakk Wylde, Tony Iommi, Duane Allman, Ace Frehley.
