All great duos have a special story about how they first met : John met Paul at Woolton Parish Church Garden Fete when John played Be-Bop-A-Lula and they ended up forming probably the greatest band in history(before The Megs fo course). Doc Dan met Syringe Steve outside a crappy bar in the white middel class area of SOFO in Stockholm somewhere in the hazy 90's and are still on a music-driven crusade against political correctness wherever it shows it's ugly face. As Doc Dan recalls it : " I was looking for anybody to make a star out of, really, and he (Syringe Steve) was standing there talking to a trash bin, completely shit-faced, wearing a really cool hat, so I thought to myself : He's as good as anyone AND he's got a cool hat. That's something to start with". Syringe Steve says he accually doesn't recall anything happening before last thursday if he doesn't get at least another beer (he gets himself one, boxes it in a split second) I have to stop here to bring you an image of this interview : Imagine trying to get some sence out of two ADD-grown-up-6-year-olds on narcs in a small, booze stenching studio in Stockholm: they constantly change the subject or argue whoose turn it is to buy munchies. It's a fucking amazement to anyone who met them that theese guys can produce music at all.Nevertheless the duo started out as pretty shitty dj's at local pubs and worked their way up to the bigger venues in Stockholm. When they got tired of that they started to experiment with making music on their own. Doc Dan, a legend in his own universe, had been making music since early childhood, made the music and Steve wrote the lyrics under a strict doctrine : no song should take more than 24 hours to make. "Songs that take more than that to make is pretentious, ass-sucking shite" Steve says and continues "It's not the flow that counts, cos I havn't got any, but it still sounds like music! Take that you bastards (shouts thru the window at some bypassing kids). Megalomaniacs produced their first EP "The Sesame Streets EP" which they passed arround among dj's in stockholm. " At first we didn't do gigs, we just crashed parties, played our songs weather people liked it or not, got fucked up on whatever came our way and fell asleep heads down in the toilet" Dan says...Excerpt from september 2006 issue of P***y Munch Magazine by Butch Bradwick
