About Me

The Scruffy Red Dogs first started back in 1998, formed for a one off gig in aid of charity and comprising members of three different bands, The SCRUFF Poets, The RED Eyes and Bad DOG. The gig went so well that we were asked to do just one more, and then to do JUST one more ........and so on.
We called it a day in 2000 and all went our seperate ways until Wardo, Gemma, Mick and Martin were asked to reform in 2004 for yet another one off charity gig. Chris was brought in as a second guitarist and we are still going strong today.
Today's line up is slightly different to the original with Gemma and Wardo the remaining founder members. Members have come and gone over the years, Martin left to play bass for The Swillers and Al was brought in as second guitarist with Chris switching to lead. When Al left due to family commitments the band settled as a four-piece with Gemma, Wardo, Mick and Chris. Gary was brought in as replacement on bass when Mick decided to join Wager.
The Scruffy Red Dogs have always tried to keep the set list as varied as possible, covering popular songs that you don't often hear bands performing. Originally covering mostly Levellers numbers, artists covered nowadays range from Tina Turner to The Cult, from Nickleback to Alannah Myles, Black Sabbath to Joan Jett, Audioslave to AC/DC.
Based in Wolverhampton, the band play all over the midlands and beyond and have played at several bike rallies.
CHRIS uses Fender and Gibson guitars and Marshall amplification.
WARDO uses Ludwig drums and Paiste cymbals.
GEMMA uses Budweiser and Strepsils.
GARY uses Fender and Warwick basses and Markbass amplification.
