About Me

All music on this webpage is copyrighted
OxZide are a classic/heavy rock band from the West Midlands with only 1 aim, To Rock the biggest venue’s harder than any band before them. In the short time OxZide have been together they have not only gained a large base of loyal fans but have gained prestigious gigs and become well known for their amazing sound and shows. Many of which include Pyrotechnics and lazers.
OxZide was formed early 2006 but its lineup wasn’t finalized until early 2007 with the addition of Rob Jarrot on Drums. Since then the band has played large and well known venue’s such as the Carling Academy, JB’s Dudley and the Hells Angels Headquarters and have proved themselves to be a great contender in todays music scene.
Oxide proved themselves to be a hot, hard rockin’ band. The female lead vocalist was astounding and the lead guitarist had some serious chops. Their old-school metal featured great melodies reminiscent of the ’80s hair era.’ Bodog music quote to our audition for entry to the world battle of the bands
BODOG Music had the following to say about our performance at the Birmingham Academy in the Uk semi finals of the competition "OxZide is old school metal at its very best. Three guys and two girls kicking some major ass!"
We kick started 2008 with not only one of our biggest gigs to date (The Academy) But also by jumping into the studio to record our Debut album ’Really Not Insane) which is due for release February/March 2008. The album contains 11 tracks of Original material including brand New recordings of Fan favorites, ’I am rock and roll’, ’I know what you’ll be doing tonight’ and ’so sick of love’ And is sounding fantastic, the Engineering wizard Andy Taylor has made a great job of the album and we’ve put a few tracks up to tide you over until it is avaliable for you all to use and abuse.
So keep your eye out for us this year, 2008 we intend to push things harder and further than ever before!

Sounds Like: The sound is hard to explain, Were very unique. All members Started with different styles from indie to death metal. However we have found a happy medium in classic rock. The Material's orchestration is quite melodic in places reminiscent of bands like Megadeth and Metallica however the bands sound is more in the lines of Ozzy Osbourne.

Beth's vocals are very powerful and push the music towards a more led zeppelin/ACDC era of power vocals and melody

Stevo is majorly influenced by the likes of Zakk Wylde and Slash and although he uses very metal styled tone there is the groves of blues and country underlying his playing, He commonly gets compared to Zakk Wylde in reference to sound.

Hannah is very metal influenced, However she started of as an acoustic guitarist as such has gained a very mellow tone that adds a major part of the power to the sound. there is also alot of instrumental guitarists like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani who are shown in her style.

Dean is very Indie, A major fan of bands like Oasis and the Foo fighters, This cuts through in his playing and adds a distinct style tone to the underlying sound of the self quoted 'Tight as a ducks Arse' Rhythm section.

Robs style is very Old School rock, Very influenced by the likes of John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. His punchy and entrancing beats are a major component of making the band have such an old school sound
Record Label: Unsigned, Holding out for the right label
Type of Label: None
