Drugs are bad! NOT!

About Me

I first started DJing when I was 15 years old, but really started listening to dance music when I was 11 years old being mesmorised by Judge Jules on Radio 1. I bought hundreds of mixed CDs, compilations & unknown albums I was a messiah at school for name that tune and just knowing about stuff going on, idolising these gods who rocked me in my socks in my front room or bedroom floor, so I had to become a DJ. When I got some decks I was instantly hooked. I first started out mixing Trance, Hard House and Vocal Funky House and built up quite a collection I was very much into the scence around 1996 to 2002, changing various styles as they came out. I had at the age of 16 2 x Numark Pro TT1s & a Numark EM 460 mixer which had a Korg Kaos Pad on, which I sold all because I needed money. Figuring something was missing in my life and couldn't put my finger on it I bought some shitty belt drive-you-up the wall because you can't mix on them decks and a turd mixer and found that mixing was my drug and I was an addict. At this point I thought about mixing new kinds of music. Around when I first started listening to dance music I did have some tapes of Drum & Bass which my mates brother taped off the radio, namely Kool FM, listening to Stevie Hyper D, Brockie & the crew in the old Junglist days was definatly candy to my ears. After 2002 I started noticing Drum & Bass as not this dark son of Jungle but an upbeat ride of steppa, rolling madness which then sucked me in, never looking back by selling all my House, Trance & Hard House records in favour of nice new shiny Drum & Bass ones. Listening to anything and being influenced by everyone I finally found a sound of Drum & Bass which I love, G-Dub lovers will know what I mean by Clown Step. Nuff said. After years of parties and getting out of my nutt I lost direction by not doing enough for the music I love, finally in 2007 I get a copy of Reason 3 and try my hand at producing, not knowing anything about the program I contacted my mate Matt who gladly came round and showed me the ropes on using it. After that I had enough input from the session to start making tunes.... this is where the story continues.............
