DESERT HEAT

About Me

The Country Music industry is always full of surprises and DESERT HEAT, country musics dark horse, is certainly no exception. A band that began in a barn in rural Quebec, now has the big boys in Nashville talking.
A couple of high school buddies got together and formed DESERT HEAT back in the fall of 1987. Trevor Brunton (Vocals), and his younger brother, Tim Brunton (Guitar), invited Jarrod P. Tetreault (Guitar) to their house to jam one day after school. Within a couple of months, they asked Robin Wilkinson (Bass) to join the line up, and DESERT HEAT was born. Heavily influenced by Country melodies, and 80's "Hair" bands, they quickly gained popularity around the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Recently drummer, Scott "Mookie" Foster (from Nashville) and Terry Joe Rodrigues (Banjo, Mandolin, and Harmonica) have joined the group.
After spending 15 years as rock n roll cover band, DESERT HEAT took a couple years off to start writing their own material and went back to their roots, which was heavily influenced by artists like The Eagles, John Mellencamp, Alabama, and Bon Jovi. Their music could best be described as a blend of new country, folk, bluegrass, pop and driving rock.
In 2004 the boys got the chance to go to Nashville to start recording their debut CD Forever Road which is full of original material that they wrote themselves. The CD was co-produced by Wayne Warner on the B-Venturous record label out of Nashville.
Forever Road came out in Summer 2005 in Canada and the first single, Gone (but not forgotten) was immediately picked up by country radio stations and put into regular rotation literally within days of its release.
After only a year of being in the Canadian country music scene, DESERT HEAT had become one of Canadas most popular new bands, opening for some of Canadas biggest country groups and artists such as The RoadHammers, Doc Walker, The Wilkinsons and George Canyon to name a few. They had also now released four singles from the Cd Forever Road, with airplay not only doing well across Canada, but now gaining popularity overseas at radio.
With over 1000 professional live performances under their belt, DESERT HEAT knows how to put on an explosive and dynamic show as well. They love to be on stage and love to entertain.
With over 200 original songs yet to be recorded, the release of their first album, Forever Road is just the beginning for this group. They plan to be around the Country music scene a long, long time.
