I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Sunshine is a Robot that is fitted with a Bladed Claw, has Four Metal Wheels and a 'Ramming Speed' setting, and runs on Alcohol."If you believe everything you are told without ever asking questions or learning the viewpoints of others then you will never truly KNOW anything, and the truth will be forever beyond your reach."Would you like fries with that? (written sometime in July sittin at the bar at Casino, to a former friend who never asked me any questions.)Let's see, I sing, I live for music, I am a total movie junkie, I am not sick of bars, I write (poetry, lyrics, slam-poetry/rythmic spoken word, journals, observations, brainfarts), I love Baseball (yes, you read correctly), I despise religion, I like to be smiling and happy - even when I'm not, complete and total cat-person, am endlessly fascinated by and - suprisingly enough - still adore people, and I absolutely love to laugh with my entire being.
That's me and my Mikey, one of my bestest friends. I'd be dead or in a rubber room right now if weren't for him... and a few others... Big Sloppy kisses for my Mikey!
On the darker side: "Life is just a friendly name for complete chaos, brutal pain, wasted hope, and really bad jokes". Wrote that back in '02.But I only believe that a small percentage of the time. Hopelessly glass- half-full-type person. Bleh.
Look that up in yer Funk and Wagnall's!I believe that healthy, successful relationships/ friendships are actually quite easy to achieve and maintain, people just need to stop unecessarily complicating them! I mean seriously, what is so complicated about mutual respect, consideration, admiration, trust, recognizing/practicing quality and depth of character, and (ready for this?) appreciating the good stuff enough that you don't chuck it all down the shitter the instant some not-so-good stuff pokes it's mis-shapen head into the room?
Always remember that everyone driving on the road is an asshole - EXCEPT for you (Direct quote from my driver's Ed teacher). And that boredom does not actually exist - those who believe they are bored are simply ignoring the gift of curiosity. Wrote that the other day, but I've always believed it. There's WAY too much shit goin on and way too many things to learn ever to use that vile word. I mean- just look at all these interesting critters I've got all around me!
I really miss dancing.....
I absolutely adore a natural flare for communication, be it speaking, writing, music, art of any kind, or body language. Or better yet, all of them! What can I say, I'm a Gemini!!!!

My Interests

I AM NOT ON MY SPACE TO GET PICKED UP!!!!! I don't care how much money you make or how many days a week you go to the gym or how many fucking friends you have on your list! Please, IF YOU ARE INCLINED TO ADD ME PLEASE HAVE THE WHEREWITHAL TO SEND A MESSAGE AS WELL! HINT: You are not likely to be added if you are not where I am (Austin) or where I used to be (Michigan).Interested in meeting creative people who know what the words honesty, respect, truth, honor, and friendship really mean. And of course, Humor! This is not to say that that I do not already have people in my life that understand and value those things, I do. But as I find myself approaching the age where I deal with arthritis more than hangovers, my leftover naivete is learning to deal with the fact that there are far more people on this planet who do not value/offer those things than there are those who still believe in/practice them. THERE IS NOTHING IN THIS ENTIRE UNIVERSE THAT I HATE MORE THAN LIES, LIARS, AND PEOPLE WHO CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO CONSIDER HOW THEY MAY POSSIBLY AFFECT ANOTHER PERSON'S WELL BEING! I'm sure a few of you can somewhat relate. Eternally interested in learning-acquiring information, reasons, facts, figures, balance, explanations, wisdom, answers, awareness with a dash of ignorance, unasked questions, undiscovered brain cells, mysteries needing attention, challenges to be made and met-FUCK! Why haven't I figured all this shit out yet? Is it supposed to take this long?

I think I need a drink...Don't you?

I'd like to meet:

Whoever's fucking responsible for all this.

The guy who used to be in here!

The family who pick-nicks and/or camps here:

The wing-nut who placed this ad:

And of course:

Music:

AND: Patsy Cline, Stray Cats, Brian Setzer, Nine Inch Nails, Tori Amos, Joan Osborne, The Amazing Royal Crowns, David Bowie, Prince, The Clash, Green Day (kiss my ass if ya don't like it), Pink Floyd, Traffic, Violent Femmes, Jane's Addiction, Temple of the Dog, Ella Fitzgerald, Lyle Lovett, Bernadette Peters, B.B. Movies:

As I said-Absolute fuckin movie JUNKIE!!!! One of my favorite things is to play movie quote trivia. So if anyone would like to participate send me a line from a movie and I'll do likewise, and we'll keep score. Eh, fuck that. I hate keeping score.

All time favorite movie that will never be replaced: Natural Born Killers. The rest of the favs which may or may not change with time:

2: Boondock Saints (has held said chart position since the year 2000)

Tied for Third: Elizabeth, Braveheart, Immortal Beloved. Then, in some sort of slightly jumbled order: Walk The Line, Secretary, Seven, American History X, Rob Roy, Clay Pigeons, Pulp Fiction, Leaving Las Vegas, Reservoir Dogs, Fight Club, Chasing Amy, Dodge Ball, The Velocity of Gary, Gia, People vs. Larry Flynt, Breakfast Club, Legends of the Fall, A League of their Own, Bull Durham, Kalifornia, Strictly Ballroom, Four Rooms,-----more soon, fingers are tired of typing.

Television:

Got a love/hate thing going on since I am considered a product of the "TV generation". But I will say this: "I don't think any shows will ever top:M*A*S*H and RoseanneAND:I FUCKING HATE FUCKING REALITY SHOWS. nuf said.

Books:

Anne Rice-Every word she ever wrote... that is, before she went all "born again". I mean, shit...was it really that fun the first time? And "All I needed to know I learned in Kindergarten", "It was on fire when I lay down on it", and "uh-oh" all by Robert Fulgham. Shakespear, though I do not claim to ALWAYS be in the frame of mind for that undertaking. Love to read history, though I confess I end up watching much more than I read. And am a life-long bigraphy freak.

Heroes:

I've had very few "heroes/heroines" throughout the years. Mostly the list consists of musicians/vocalists (because I sing)/writers and actors.

For singing:Ani Difranco, Maynard James Keenan, Joan Osborne, Bradely Nowell

Song Writing: Ani, Maynard, Bradely, Trent, Tori, Dylan

Author: Anne Rice~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Extremely respected and beloved though not "heroes":

Singing: Aretha, Bernadette Peters, Stevie Nicks, Ella Fitzgerald, Bonnie Raitt.

Actors: Gary Oldman, Tim Roth, Cate Blanchett, Brad Pitt ( for acting, not for being pretty) Johnny Depp, Julliette Lewis, Vincent D'Nofrio.....
