BACKGROUND : I was the Singer/songwriter for BRIK MARINE a moderately successful early 80’s Leeds rock band. We headlined most pub/club rock venues in northern England, supported a few major bands and played down the bill at a couple of festivals. We reached the finals of a Battle of the bands competition, have a track on an EMI compilation album ‘Rock On’( I actually signed a contract with EMI in 1981). Sold few records made no money packed in and went and did a proper job for 20 odd years.ANGLO SAXON : Like most people we think the London Bombings were a Watershed in our history. For my birthday in January 2006 my partner bought me a new guitar and all of a sudden these patriotic songs started coming out of us. She co-wrote the lyrics on ‘This is England’, ‘When Daddy' and 'Lest' we forget'.... Got in touch with a former band member who has a studio and an internet based record company ‘confidential records’ and ANGLO SAXON was born on 23rd of April 2006 (work it out). ............... " This is a truely great patriotic band that needs to be heard! ANGLO SAXON are one of the most musically gifted songwriters I've ever heard. What they do with this god given gift, is keep the dream alive that this politically demoralized goverment are trying to take away from us and thats our identity. thats what the Engish and the British people should fight for. They play from the heart, so we should listen! They stand for justice, hope and the independence the goverment are trying to take away and thats what makes them special! THIS IS ENGLAND is a song worthy of a priceless monet painting. There is only truth in this musical masterpiece! its there in front of your face. believe it or not the truth is in the answer.
