“I close my eyes and see my self with a few years, at that uncle’s old house in Uruguay, one of those big houses that make a few-year-old boy feel scared, innumerable rooms of high roof and clocks pointing out hours through its bells, at the back of the house I see my self sitting at the piano been out of tune, with my foot hanging without touching the floor, trying to play those songs I’ve heard my cousins and my brothers play, then friends came, joy, distresses, a great love of the big ones, and others of diverse sizes, big songs, big friends, the permanent search, the music, my music, play songs with love and shout out of tune for the girl of turn, this teen fascination for the jazz, the blues, the boogies, the piano lessons with my friend Miguel, that Katie Webster record played by my brother Dieguito and I, one and a thousand times, then the rock, afternoons with my friend Daniel, doing incredible songs that we’ve forgotten the following day, the stages, from the tiniest bar to big stadiums full of people, the travels, my friends, to share life with big artists, that then were friends, laughs, weeping, records. Today, twenty years later, I find my self writing to you, telling you about me, a simple boy who doesn’t want to revolutionize the world, just do songs, surely I will be sitting at my piano in a few hours o with the laptop in bed doing music, searching for sounds, ideas, sensations, and with the same illusion of that kid with the fringe above his eyes”.:) :) :) :)
