Born in the year when the Empire strikes back in Jakarta Indonesia, Oki was brought up in different parts of the world. Having been exposed to different cultures and colors, he has always been musically inclined since a very early age.
Oki’s musical inspiration and influences covers the whole spectrum of sound but when DJing, he enjoys most playing house music. Having forged his own distinctive sound that is jazz infected, funked up and soul filled house with a raw jackin’ Chicago vibe (referred by many as NEW SCHOOL HOUSE).
He paid his dues playing at countless underground parties at different kinds of venues from indoors, to the rooftop of a 30 floor building and high profile events and venues throughout Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta, sharing bills and decks with DJs such as Eric Entrena (Spain), Dennis Ferrer (Ibadan/Defected/Objektivity), Rasmus Faber (Farplane), Raysoo (Love International), Alam & Azran (Obsession), Brent Burns, Victor G (Obsession) and Grammy winners Deep Dish (Yoshitoshi) to name a few and recently Filo & Perry (Vandit) and DJ Meme’ (Reelgroove).
Behind the decks he never fails to get the crowd groovin to his music where you can expect house music in its myriad of forms ranging from classic, groove, jazz/funk/soul, afro-latin, deep, disco to the more upfront jackin New School Sound depending on the vibe of the night or party, always leaving a lasting impression.
Now back in his hometown, you can find him spinning around well known clubs in Jakarta and interstate alongside Indonesia’s finest House DJs under the label DIGITALSIX on his regular House event called "NITEGROOVES", and as a guest DJ for other well known DJ labels. Also, he is busy running his DJ School and in the studio constructing beats and melodies looking to make his first realease in the near future under his production label, Natural High Productions.
