Take a glorious bite out of the whole world

About Me

"Still there are times I am bewildered by each mile I have traveled, each meal I have eaten, each person I have known, each room in which I have slept. As ordinary as it all appears, there are times when it is beyond my imagination." - Jhumpa Lahiri

My Interests

Traveling when I have the money. Traveling when I don't. Walking the streets of NYC and Brook-a-leen. Napping on the beach. Sitting down to a good book, or some good tunes. Tea! Endless amounts of Turner Classic Movies. Night skies. Old New York. Drawing when I am not feeling terribly lazy. Poorly done daytime TV commercials.

I'd like to meet:

Myspace Layouts
Myspace Codes
Myspace Generators
Myspace Backgrounds Kate Winslet, so she can affirm that we are infact best friends. And the lovechild of Steven Merchant and Ricky Gervais.

Music:

Large amounts of Big Band, Jazz, and classic Crooners. Various Classical when I am in a 'cultured' mood. Boppin to the Oldies. Steel drum beats! And in no particular order: the Arcade Fire, Aqualung, Badly Drawn Boy, the Beatles, Beck, Beirut, Belle and Sebastian, Blonde Redhead, Cat Power, Coldplay, Counting Crows, the Cure, Damien Rice, Death Cab, Devotchka, Elvis, Flaming Lips, the genius compositions of Jon Brion, Johnny Cash, Jose Gonzalez, Madonna forever, the Magnetic Fields, Manu Chao, Modest Mouse, the National, Radiohead, Ratatat, Regina Spektor, Royksopp, the Shins, Sigur Ros, the Smiths, Sufjan Stevens, Tom Waits, Wolf Parade, and Yo La Tengo. Did I not mention Spice Girls?? I love music.

Movies:

Grand Hotel, Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, Rear Window, North by Northwest, Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany's, An Affair to Remember, All About Eve, I'm game for anything involving Julie Andrews, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Motorcycle Diaries, Manhattan, The Jerk, Kill Bill, Spiderman!, Amelie, Jurassic Park, LOTR, Little Miss Sunshine, Clue - cinema's greatest achievement.

Television:

The Office (BBC version), Little Britain, Spaced - love that BBC. Arrested Development, Futurama, Family Guy, LOST!!!, Murder, She Wrote, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Reno911!, A Haunting, Law and Order: SVU (we should clone Mariska Hargitay), and almost everything on Discovery, Science Channel and the National Geographic Channel.

Books:

Someday I'd like to write one. In the meantime, I read those written by others: Harold and the Purple Crayon - my first and greatest love. The Great Gatsby. Tender is the Night. The Known World. 1984. Song of Soloman. The Stranger. Interpreter of Maladies. Fahrenheit 451. Me Talk Pretty One Day - Sedaris is God. Devil in the White City. Harry Potter! Dubliners. Leaves of Grass. The God of Small Things. Life of Pi. Pride and Prejudice. We Wish to Inform You...
