About Me

The Outlaw Dixie Band was formed in 2007 by founder Blackie Beverly. Blackie having originally grown up in Cabin Creek W.Va, a small coal mining town just outside of Charleston W.Va. was brought up in a musical family who exposed him to Bluegrass and Country and as the 70's came Southern Rock was only a stones throw away from the mix. After serving in the military he later had some limited success in the Tampa, Florida area having opened for some major acts in the late 90's as well as touring with signed artists in Nashville.Blackie then relocated to South Carolina in 2003. In 2005 Blackie began working at Guitar Center in Charleston, S.C. and being in the Carolinas only brought back his love of Southern Rock. After leaving Guitar Center in 2006 he began pursuing what is the work in progress of The Outlaw Dixie Band. Encouraged by friend and Nashville/North Carolina session guitarist Skip Gosnell he has continued in the creation of The Outlaw Dixie Band as well as playing for indie artists and studio work. Welcome to the home of Southern Rocks' Next Generation.......
