About Me
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the home of "Brotherly Love", Frankie is one of the original pioneers of today's "POP RAP". His number one hit record "Double Dutch Bus" is still one of the most requested dance records of all times!! Frankie has been an inspiration to such artists as Tone Loc and Ice Cube (as reported by MTV) as well as making music history with his unique style.Working as a strong writer for Gamble and Huff (of Philly International), writing and co-writing material for such artists as The O'Jays, Billy Paul, Spinners, Archie Bell, and the Drells etc., Frankie decided to set his goals as an artist. Whenever he had free time from his busy schedule, he would slip into the studio to record what would eventually turn out to be the largest selling 12" dance single of all times "Double Ducth Bus". "The whole concept was created in the studio after I was turned down as a Bus Driver for SEPTA in Philly", states Frankie. "That job rejection turned my musical career around, and helped me create a record that was number one on the Billboard Charts for 6 weeks and sold more than 4 million copies to date".After signing with W.M.O.T., Philadelphia, Pa., Frankie toured with such artist as Rick James, Slave, Zapp, Sugarhill Gang, Gap Band, Commodores, Kool and the Gang, Smokey Robinson, ect. He also appeared in such movies as "Beloved" with Oprah Winfrey & Danny Glover, "Snake Eyes", with Nicolas Cage, and several "B" rated horror flicks.Frankie has currently signed a major record deal with a new international label "Planet Entertainment", New Jersey, for the release of his new album "The Frogman"!! He is also involved with co-producing 4 more albums that are currently in work with Planet Entertainment, with such artist as Billy Paul, McFadden & Whitehead, The Trammps, and The Intruders.Frankies live performance always guarantee's at least 2 encores!! The loyal fans from the past as well as the New ones are never shorted by the energy he delivers. For the recent 25th American Music Award special, Dick Clark personally called Frankie to get permission to run a segment from 1982 in which Frankie was asked to "Rap the Rules".Double Ducth Bus will always be the "Ultimate Party Anthem".I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
