Coming from Berkeley, California, Hip Hop Group The B.M.W (Bay’s Most Wanted) whose name is misunderstood for negativity, really means that, in the our community we are targets through music for being different, and because of this attention, we are wanted by the public because they want to hear what our thoughts and feelings are through our music. The group which was formed in 2004 consists of four members, Vice Versa(A.K.A. W.O.N.D.A.)(Artist/Producer),19, Mookie BABY!!!(Artist/Producer), 19, Lil’ Jess a.k.a Fire Chick(Artist),20, and Suppa Mario(Producer),21. Mookie BABY!! IS (NOW A SOLO ARTIST) He is no longer in the group!!!! The lethal combination of two artists, and 2 producers puts the group ahead of the competition because there are few, if any groups with this combination. All three members have been associated with music all of their lives either by listening or playing an instrument but for Vice Versa (A.K.A. W.O.N.D.A). rapping and producing didn’t come into the picture until 2004. Fire Chick has been rapping since she was younger but wasn’t serious about it until 2004, while Suppa Mario has played piano since he was younger but didn’t start producing until 2005. One would think since the group is so new, our talent level would be limited, but this is what sets them apart from others. Within’ a year of the groups formation, the independently released and promoted CD titled “The Most Wanted†was released in a limited part of the East Bay Area, mainly Berkeley. At the time of the first CD’s release Suppa Mario was not a member of the group. The CD was released and though it was welcomed and they got positive feedback, they still felt that they were missing a piece to our puzzle and that is where Suppa Mario came into our lives in 2005. They have had to fight through a lot since the groups formation, but they are too dedicated to let any adversity hold them down, so every issue that has been presented has been conquered with their heads high. They believe their struggles in life have mentally prepared them for the music industries hardships and stresses, and they are welcoming the challenge with open arms.
