Malawi Appeal

Malawi Appeal was set up in 2002 by David Perrin. He went over to the poverty stricken country in 1999 and saw their need for aid. A commitee was set up and the charity offically launched. The first mission to Malawi was in 2002.Himself, his wife Patrica Perrin, thier 6 month old daughter, Danica Perrin and friend Tony Riley all went on that trip. While there, they distributed various relief items such as clothes food and blankets. During this trip David had a vision to build an orphanage in Malawi. The following year,2003, a larger group of people went out to malawi on a second mission trip;Before going different fundraising events were put on e.g car washes, gospel concerts and sponserd events. The group included David Perrin, Patrica Perrin, Danica Perrin, Tony Riley, Donald White, Mark Perrin and Alex Perrin. While there they distributed items from the barrels. In the barrels were various items of clothing which had been donated by members of the public. In Malawi during this trip, we tried to get a piece of land to build the orphanage site on. This was a drawn out long process but eventuall in 2005 we aquired the land. This year a third mission trip there was a third mission trip. Codsall Community High School joint with Harvest Development Youth Project visited the country. This trip consisted of 18 young people and 5 members of staff. While there they partnered with Likanagala Secondary School and took part in a weekend of events. Also did distributions with the barrels they took. MyGen Profile Generator
