A Picture Of Tortured Serenity....

About Me

A work in progress. Loving, Loveful... Loveless. Aspiring writer/singer, otherwise known as unemployment.
I'm currently, once again, searching for musicians, I have many songs written but I have no desire to play any instruments on them, and refuse to piece together loops on a computer music program in the hope of coming up with a piece of music. The only reason I have this demo up is simply because I felt the lyric was weak enough to desecrate by setting music to it myself. If any musicians in Manchester would care to get in touch, please do so.
20/08 I'm currently in the process of relocating back to Manchester from London, due to circumstances beyond my control. This has hindered my current going-on's with music which, after such an arduous search for musicians, was moving along at a nice pace. However I am confident that songs will be recorded in Manchester later this year, they'll include: 'Patricia Routledge', 'Two Types of Fruit', 'Pub Philosophers', 'Singer Songwriter Cutting Up a Thesaurus', 'This Good Boy Deserves a Favour', 'Just a Phase', and a cover of James Maker's unreleased song 'Arrivederci Rock 'n' Roll'... amongst many others.07/09 Have I given up freedom for perpectual anxiety? Only time will tell. Things are going well in Manchester, although I shall not be on myspace often during the next couple of weeks.

The Blind Run (Another Tale From My Time In The States)

A nervous, sad, balding man of about fifty years of age boarded the greyhound coach in Philadelphia and sat next to me, I knew that having two seats to myself would not last very long. Under his arm I...

The Rolling Stone May Gather No Moss, But It Can Start An Avalanche

I was scarcely sixteen, and I was becoming merely a reference point, an odd face reflecting back from a mirror, a still from a movie you see where somebody would comment 'Ah, nobody looks like that no...

Joel Lane

For anyone unfamiliar with Joel Lane, he is an Birmingham based author and poet of unrivalled importance to me. Being a rather obscure name in the art world I thought I would share a little about him,...

Pub Philosophers, Coffee House Philistines

One grave January afternoon I walked into the city centre of Manchester to visit a much frequented bar of mine near Deansgate that I had a penchant for. I obsequiously shuffled through the door that w...

A Day In The Life.

This morning, I awoke to the sound of the builders working in a nearby flat with the vaguest remnants of my dream still lingering. I think the best way to start a morning is by pieceing together these...
