The Jetblack (Jet Black) was formed in 1992 in Novi Sad, Serbia (Yugoslavia). The band was most active in 1995-96, but, unfortunately, it broke up in 1997. The longest lasting line-up (and the most productive one) consisted of Robert Simandy (guitars), Julio Simandy (drums), Andras Ispan (bass) and Goran Lelovic (vocals). The Jetblack performed few local gigs which were very well received by the audience.
Since the break up, a reunion was discussed on several occasions, but nothing happened until 2007, when the band started re-recording old songs and composing new ones. Also, the name was changed from "Jet Black" to "The Jetblack".
The Jetblack was mostly influenced by Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Carcass and Black Sabbath. Although considered to be a thrash metal band, that classification seems to be somewhat imprecise, since the variety of musical expressions, influences and non-strict approach to metal standards caused band's sound to be dispersed on a much wider area of genre which simply defies valid classification.
The Jetblack's lyrics are mostly about self-contemplation, lost love and existential despair.
