Sounds Like: "Classic rock meets the 80's meets hip-hop with a lil' bit of scratch on top"
B.I.D.S. (Back In The Day Scot - courtesy of DJ Deluxe!) Started Spinning Hip Hop In 1989 with a crew called the L.O.B. (legion of boom).
Opened for Public Enemy and the Afros in 1991 on thier Welcome to the terrordome tour. Our crew broke up after a 1 year run. Kept spinning till 1992, then took a 4 year break. Got back into spinning house and breakbeats in 1996, where I met Dj Terrance niles (In his car), Dj Stitch Jones, Dj Deluxe, Dj O2N, Dj Flange, Dj Cevin. Then met Promoters Todd and Case who defined the rave scene in spokane. I played a few shows in washington state for them, then moved onto phoenix AZ, WHERE I MET: Dj Markus Schultz, Dj Cl McSpadden, Dj Donovan, THE BOMBSHELTER CREW (Z-Trip, Emile, Dj radar, @ HigherGround in Tempe), took a good look at spinning at that point in time, and recognized that something newer could be brought to the poeple. I took an extended break after 1998, and now have just started going back to the roots of spinning hip hop along with 80's , house, and break beats infused. Practicing daily on my scratch and mixing style, (the mash-up). This town (spokane) Has had many ups and downs with promoters, But thx to Marble productions, (the next big production co. to come up in the inland northwest) a lot of Great d.j.'s (i.e., Terrance niles, Dj learn, Dj stitch jones, Dj parafyn, Dj snuggs, Dj kris-g, Dj frishkorn, promoter/Dj Marble, and one hell of a mic checka' Sake 1, Have a new oppurtunity to show thier skills that the inland northwest has to offer. On the other note, with Marble Productions, it gives incoming dj's a chance to see whats going on in the inland N.W. and a chance for the word to be spread. So hopefully the largest city in washington state will finally get its dues sometime soon. (yes seattle has more peeps, but we the bigger city...hehehehe). Wanna give love to Stitch Jones for coming so far when alot of peeps didnt say he could, Way to "SHUT EM' DOWN" Lil Brutha!!! Still enjoy going to parties and watching the new up and coming talent get down. Hope to see you all real soon at a show! Thats all I have for now.
Peace and One to all....DJ B.I.D.S.
