Wayfarers All is a Jazz-Fusion group based in Asheville, NC. We have a wide variety of styles and influences, not limited to musical artists alone. The soundscape is comprised of a basis around Jazz-Fusion, which lends itself into the worlds of Reggae, Progressive Rock, World Music, and Classical.
The group as it now stands is comprised of 4 players: Tom Stanford (Keyboards), Michael Coletta (Bass. Guitar, Vocals/Lyrics) Lee Stanford (violin), and Jason Antalovich (Drum-Kit).
We have been playing together since January of 2007, and decided to actually form a working band in March of 2007. Since that time we have had some local gigs in the Asheville scene, including The Garage At Biltmore, Bo-Bo-Gallery, Joli-Rouge, French Broad Brewery.
The name “Wayfarers All” is based on the idea of life and the Journey of exploration, with fulfillment from what is learned and experienced being as important, if not more, then the destination itself. The name originates from the chapter in Kenneth Gram’s Wind in the Willows, which was written with the fore mentioned philosophy in mind, being very true to Tao/Zen ideas.
The music is marked by dynamic contrasts, fun grooves occasional extended song lengths, complex compositions, and eclectic lyrical motifs, but roots itself in a way that is danceable, and playful. We bring a presence of science fiction, and a maelstrom of aural topography.
