I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Oh yes, about me? You want to know about me? Well let me tell you this: I am the Bass Player in the THREE MINUTE MARGIN. I existed on the fringes of reality with my weblog at HTTP://www.mattian.co.uk/pablovich. It's now going to become part of a proposed comedy podcast under the banner of "Hallelujah Ape" I play multiple instruments, but not all at the same time and more and more I seem to be chained to the mixing desk producing such hit records as "When Good Kids Go Bad" by Town Bike - I run the newly named 'CLOISTER ROOM RECORDING STUDIO', an ad hoc set-up.

My Interests

Music, Writing Comedy, Drinking Real Ale at the Willowbank, Recording, Watching Films/TV, obsessing over Doctor Who.

I'd like to meet:

A friendly Wolf. 3 snakes (no more, no less) and some Moss. Or Stephen Fry, Neil Innes, Matt Berry and all my lovely friends. (Actually I've now met Neil Innes and Matt Berry - so things are on track!)

Music:

The Bonzo Dog Band, Fugazi, Zappa, Shellac, The Shadows, Tokyo Adventures, Manfred Mann, Neil Innes, Sleater-Kinney, Flamingo 50, Victory At Sea, CSN&Y, Grampus Eight, The Beatles, XTC, Eels, Ben Folds Five, Fiona Apple, Joey Momsawhore, Mary Timony, Trad folk and Folk Rock and many strange and wonderful flavours of Punk Rock and Post Hardcore.

Movies:

Brazil, North By Northwest, Transformers: The Movie, Amelie, Taxi (the original one), Twelve Monkeys, The Odd Job Man, Psycho, Jaws, Jabberwocky.... Oh, alright then, ALL of Terry Gilliam's films. Vertigo.... oh, alright then, ALL of Alfred Hitchcock's films. All the Monty Python films, Beatles movies, Spirited Away, Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show... oh, alright then... you get the picture. And all the Marx Brothers films. And "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World".I keep thinking of more.

Television:

Snuff Box, Doctor Who, Vic & Bob in Catterick - and everything else they've done. The Mighty Boosh, Darkplace, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Futurama. BBC News 24 (mmm, rolled news), A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Monty Python. Many flavours of television are tasty to me.*******QUINCY! How Could I forget QUINCY!*******

Books:

1984, Keep The Aspidistra Flying, The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy, No 1 Ladies Detective Agency, The FANTOMAS series, Asterix, The Jeeves and Wooster booksHang on, let's just say: GEORGE ORWELL, GRAHAM GREENE, HUNTER S THOMPSON, TERRY SOUTHERN, BILL BRYSON, JORGE LUIS BORGES, TERRY PRATCHETT, P G WODEHOUSE.Hmm. I like books too.

Heroes:

Neil Innes for constant and unerring greatness as a musician and person and everyone else who does a job they like and isn't ashamed to wear their obsessive-hearts on their obsessive-sleeves.

I'm a winner in the game of Plumbing.

It's amazing... my sink died. I didn't think it possible for a sink to break down, but it did. The result of this failure was a blocked waste pipe and lots of nasty leaking. I bravely, nobly took it u...

A Weekend with Munkys and The Hunt For Friends.

What a Munkyfest! And now it has passed, but even worse, so has Tokyo Adventures, a band I've followed for quite some time. And what a blessing it was for us, as Three Minute Margin, to have been able...
