About Me

The London Improvisers Orchestra were born from the embers of Butch Morris' London Skyscraper tour for the Contempory Music network tour in November 1997. Concerts were performed in London, Birmingham, Oxford, Manchester, Bristol and Liverpool. Members of the ensemble decided to carry the project on and thus was born The London Improvisers Orchestra--------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------For ten months of the year, the orchestra meets up on the first sunday of the month (excluding December and January). Meeting early on the Sunday anybody who has an idea about how to control a group of individuals who take pleasure in not being controlled, can rehearse what they would like to do. These pieces mixed in with freely improvised sections makes up the performance at 8.30. ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------- If you haven't heard the orchestra yet, I can't recommend it enough to you. It is one of the secret gems of the London music calendar. And for those that have heard us we look forward to see you again.
