There is a unique quality to his sound that reaches out and grabs you with his ability to evoke emotion and express maturity beyond his years. His pure, powerful, smoky and seductive voice will draw you in.
Kalanâ€™s talent goes well beyond his natural vocal ability, which has been honed by years of training. He is also an accomplished musician having studied violin and viola at the Royal Conservatory of Music and can play guitar, bass and piano as well. His musical abilities are diverse. It could be his electric violin interpretation of the Fritz Kreisler classical piece "Praeludium and Allegro", or a ballad like his record-breaking first single "Awake in a Dream." Some might say, "Kalan Porter is a rocker with a fiddle and a classical soul!" However you put it ... the many layers of Kalan Porter have combined to create a sound that is all his own.
It is apparent that his deep-rooted family values, strong work ethic and passion for music together with a large dose of humility have combined to make Kalan a person his fans have come to love and his fellow musicians to respect.
