I grew up on P.E.I. and spent my days combing beaches and collecting sand pebbles. After that we picked up and moved to Ontario where my love of finding rocks was limited to Mom and Dad's gravel driveway... strangely enough my favourite place in the world is Death Valley~ one RV park,one general store, 2 hotels, and what do you know? Miles upon miles of rocks.From early on in my life until this day, I have surrounded myself with music and more often than not... rock music. (Ah...you notice the trend here, don't you?)
As a teen I befriended numerous local bands and attended their gigs and found myself going to several major concerts a week. (That's when tickets were cheap).
From Kiss to Queen. U2 to Bowie. Pink Floyd to Wham... (yeah,well no one's perfect)...I couldn't get enough.
Although I surrounded myself with music, sadly I never learned to play an instrument, except the accordion for 8 weeks and that certainly wasn't my idea.
I can carry a tune, but it's often in the car.
I guess I have lived my dreams through the lives of my musician friends and have felt wholeheartedly all of their disappointments and triumphs...which brings me to KALAN PORTER... yes I am a Porter supporter. I 'adopted' him 3 years ago and have watched his life and career unfold in front of me. He's a talented musician, and a good guy.
