Value Of Strength Magazine

At the end of the 80s beginning of 90s some friends got together under the name Value of Strength because of their passion for skateboarding and straightedge. Shortly after, the idea for doing a zine was born. At this moment Value of Strength is the longest running and (of course) the best hardcore fanzine in Europe and there is no sign they will stop anywhere soon!
As from the very beginning the zine was a side activity, an activity next to work and study. And it still is. For the people involved in it, it is an escape from everyday life and an outlet for the love of hardcore and punkrock music. Our aim is to give something back to the music scene were involved in for so long.
Value of Strength started out as a vegan straightedge zine. And even though we are not only passing this lifestyle under review, we still support these values. In our books hardcore is more than just music, acting cool and being tough. We cover a broad range of our music scene and talk to bands we think are cool to talk to; because of their music, because of their lyrics, because of their thoughts. We also focus on DIY ethics, and political and social topics in interviews and articles.
Many may have thought we didn't exist anymore but were still around and are proud to let you know we have issue 10 lined up! Besides the usual rambling, columns and reviews, there are interviews with Richie Birkenhead of Underdog and Into Another fame, Omission, The Suicide File, The International Noise Conspiracy, Cursed, Breather Resist, Johnny Forward of Mainstrike, Reaching Forward and Downslide fame, The Fire Theft, The National Anthems, The Locust, Rise and Fall plus Plan Of Attack...So stay tuned and keep on checking back for the latest news!
