Strikelight history begins at the end of 1999, where, 16 year-old then, Thodoris Vogiatzis (bass), affected by the N.W.O.B.H.M. movement and 80’s metal in general, wanted to form a band. After a lot of line-up changes, Strikelight managed to have a steady line-up with George "Inner Voice" Stavropoulos on vocals, George Hararis and Nick Dienis on the guitars, Thodoris Vogiatzis on the bass and Bill Xirokostas on the drums. They gave their first major gig in July 2002 in Kallithea at Davaki Square where a 2 day metal fest was on featuring well known hellenic bands such as Marauder, Dark Nova and Flames. In September Dienis left and Nick Papakostas re-joined the band (he was in the past). Strikelight then met two guys that changed the course of the band's history: Greg "Heavy Load" Varsamis and Jim "Candlemass" Vagiannis aka Eat Metal Records, in whom the music of the band and their thirst for Pure heavy Metal draw their attention.As a conclusion to all that, more lives were performed with even more well-known Hellenic bands such as the veterans Vice Human, the epic Reflection, Bloodstained, Dream Weaver, the also epic Crush and the all-time-classic Raging Storm. The highest point of all these performances was supporting the legendary Cloven Hoof and Italy’s new epic force, Holy Martyr on their visit to Hellas on April 2004. Three months ago after the public's demand, their debut demo cd "Born by Fire" was released. The acceptance of the fans was unique and that led to the recording of their self-titled debut cd in December 2004. The highlight of the band's course so far-till the next-was the appearance in Ragnarock Fest in Holland in June 2005 and in November of the same year at the Warm Up Show of KIT V in Germany. Strikelight have supported well-known bands that visited Hellas such as Blitzkrieg and Riot. The current line-up consists of a new drummer, Anestis Apistolas. The band is ready to record a cd/7'' single called "My Living Hell". Stay Tuned!! Ouzo...to gello!!
