Photography!!! Random "this and that" pics:Jeez, well... not a day goes by without music, er... I like reading. (One problem though: I only read in bed. And when I read in bed, I fall asleep. So I'm not a speedy reader, if you know what I mean.) I love to write (hence the blogs),and one of my other hobbies is photograpy. Oh, another (maybe weird hobby): driving on the left. Nothing special, is it? It is in Holland, as we drive on the right. ;-) Right. (Can't wait to take my car to Scotland again later this year. Ooops... it's going to be Ireland this year.)
But what I like most is to have a laugh... Wanna laugh with me? This is Najib Amhali, one of the best comedians in The Netherlands. In this next clip he shows how some Afghans might react after a radio has been dropped. Don't be put off by the Dutch at the beginning, he simply says: "There are some Afghans who have never ever seen a radio. And suddenly, a radio falls from the sky..." Look what happens.
|Big sis and I in The Big One in Blackpool. The screaming (my screaming) is exitement, NOT fear. I just can't stop laughing. A quick translation of the spoken Dutch: "Please hold on to my camera!!!" (While I was filming, my sister made pics. With MY other camera.) It's not the best quality, but hey, who cares? At least I had fun!
Given the chance, I would like to catch up with my dad after all these years. You know, ask the questions you never asked when you could, things like that... and I would like to meet all of my grandparents. I only ever knew my dad's mum, and the rest... I only know them by what other people have told me... Talk about wishful thinking...
I love music (from pop to classical, from funk to jazz, whatever). Some of my favourites are Joss Stone, Level 42, James Morrison, Simple Minds, Bossa Nostra, Keane and Amanda Marshall (WHO??? Amanda Marshall, the most underrated Canadian singer of the past few years. (Maybe it's better to tell what I don't like. Trance, heavy metal, gangsta rap, yuck!) I (try to) play saxophone, I (try to) play piano and I (try to) sing. Oh-and I can play popcorn (the song) on my teeth. Have a look!"Rooted", from Level 42's Retroglide (2006). Great live tune!

Bridget Jones (Yep, one AND two. Chickflick-chick, me... Monthy Python's Holy Grail, Pink Panther movies (only the real stuff featuring Peter Sellers ofcourse), Awakenings, The Queen.
All time favourites: Top Gear, Fawlty Towers, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Absolutely Fabulous and errr... Eastenders. Sorry.
Secret London by Andrew Duncan (Fab book. When you think you know London, read this.) Air Babylon by Imogen Edwards-Jones (Behind the scenes of a non-existent airline) Miss America by Nathalie Huigsloot (Dutch girl goes to work for America's most hated Dutch TV-correspondent. His American collegues call him the Nazi. Says enough....). I Always Get My Sin by Maarten Rijkens (This is what can happen when Dutch people try to speak English.)
That would be... ME!!! Lol. No, it's John Cleese. No, really! I mean, just have a look at this. It's his speech at Graham Chapman's memorial service. And for those who do not know: it's a REAL memorial service... brilliant!
