Suite a la rencontre de Thierry Mirabelli (guitare et chant) et de Yannick Scheerer (batterie), Mincing Knife voit le jour en 1998. C’est, par conséquent, sous ce nom que le groupe est invité à se produire au Lycée Louis Marchal (dans le canton de Molsheim) lors d’une journée consacrée à la fête de la musique. Sans tarder, dans l'objectif d'etre plus cohérent, les textes étant en francais, le groupe prend le nom de HACHOIR . Après l’arrivée d’un nouveau bassiste ainsi que d’un second guitariste, cette nouvelle formation fait quelques apparitions lors de petits festivals. Suite aux encouragements du public, Hachoir donne plusieurs représentations dans des bistrots locaux et decide de se lancer dans l’enregistrement d’un CD autoproduit :"Rock'n' Roll Boucherie". Grâce au succes relatif de cet album, Hachoir sévit devant un public grandissant, provoquant ainsi l’intérêt de groupe plus confirmés. L’opportunité se présente alors pour eux de partager par deux fois l’affiche avec KILLERS ainsi que d’assurer la premiere partie de TANKARD ou de DESTRUCTION.
Quelques mois plus tard, a la suite d’un changement de line-up, Hachoir traverse une période creuse...
C’est a ce moment que le groupe rencontre Greg, batteur de SoulJacker. Le courant passe bien, la motivation est là . Aussi en quelques répetitions on s’aperçoit qu’il y a matière à travailler. Greg prend ainsi place de manière permanente derrière les futs. La nouvelle formation se lance dés lors dans le travail des morceaux, dans l’élaboration d’une play-list en béton armé pour assurer leur retour progressif à la scene. Une nouvelle page d’ Hachoir est, dés lors, en train de s’écrire ...
Following the encounter of Thierry mirabelli (guitarist, singer) and Yannick Scheerer (drums), mincing knife was born in 1998. So, It is with this name They were invited to play at Louis marchal highschool (molsheim, france) during a day devoted to the music fest. Without delay, in the way to be fit with the language of the lyrics (those are in french), the band take the name "Hachoir". After the arrival of a new bass player and a second guitarist, this new line-up made a few appearances in small festivals. Following the support of the public, Hachoir give several performances in local pubs and decide to record a CD "Rock'n'roll boucherie". The album is a success, and in front of public increasingly important, Hachoir wakes the interest of confirmed bands. The opportunity comes to them, to share stage twice with KILLERS and to open stages for TANKARD or DESTRUCTION.
A few months later, after changes in the line-up, Hachoir has to cross a hollowed period...
So, the band meets greg, drummer of Soujacker. They are all agree, the motivation is here. Also, in a few rehearsals, we can see that there is potential. Greg takes up permanent way behind the drums. The new line-up began to work on new songs, doing a playlist of reinforced concrete to ensure their gradual return on stage. A new page is being written...
