Discocraphy/biography
1997 : Birth of the entity, summoned by darkness and light, Searing Skull comes to birth. The performed style is only medieval ambiant. It is a one man band lead by Legolas Landvoettir, and it will forever be.
1998 : First Black Metal events in Searing Skull. A lot of tapes are recorded from 1997 to 2001.
2000 : Snowstorms joins the band. "As deep goes the forest" is recorded, in cdr format. Too harsh to be released.
2001 : Release of Forested tales, atmospheric and speed bm, more than one hour-long, by Legolas' and Snowstorm's label, Brutal Druide. 100 ex. in CDR format, 10 or so in tape format for the french killer label DUKE. Sold out.
2002 : Release of Pagan Realms, much more brutal, and even faster than Forested Tales. 100 ex. by Brutal Druide, sold out, and 333 copies by DUKE, tape formatabout to be sold out. Acclaimed as a "great pagan metal tape album" by Drakar prods.
2003 : Release of Then Frost Shall Be, cdr, 100 ex, by Brutal Druide. Not really a demo (production, length), not really an album (cdr format), "Demo of the year" for Foedus Aeturnus Zine.
2003 : Snowstorm isn't in the band anymore.
2004 : Split tape with Eihwaz "United By the Runes", 500 ex., tape Format, pro cover, produced by Korosiv Prods, Sold out. Darker, heavier, Straight forward Black Metal assault.
2006 : Release of Then Frost Shall Be by the killer label DUKE, unlimited, in tape format, pro cover.
2007 : Realease of INLANDSIS, tape format, 250 ex. by INFERNAL KOMMANDO, pro colored cover, 44 minutes of pure dedication to Sadness, hate, misanthropy, coldness and the greatness of our Dark Mother Nature.
CONCEPT :
1-DON'T ADD/LISTEN TO SEARING SKULL IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FIGHT FOR AND NOTHING TO SAY.
2-A Searing Skull is the only remaining thing of the one who deserve to pay retribution to the Cosmic Order.
3-Darkness and light are melt. No Shadow without light, no day without night.
4-Pagan mythologies are metaphors for describing the Cosmic Order. These are Teachings. I call them metaphors for human mind is too small to encompass the real nature of Cosmos. I often use Celtic and Norse mythologies as guides for a better understanding of the Order.
5-Monotheism and Manicheism are ways to blind the soul and the mind.
6-Ginungagap is the void full of conscioussness, it is what its name means. So consciousness existed as well as unconsciousness. No beginning, no end, just changings.
7-Equilibrium was already there at that time in the multiverse. At the North, Nilfheimr, in the South, Muspellheimr. Two opposites, so much nuances when the ice melt under the fire's bites. The Cosmic Order modificated itself but the Equilibrium remained the same. If not, Ragnarok will happen, and it will then come back to Equilibrium.
8-We are all sentenced to bear this order, some will serve, some will dominate, all will kneel in front of the Equilibrium.
9-Cosmos can't be inversed because it has already all it's contrary. Matter and anti/dark-matter, Forces of Consciousness (men and so called Gods (metaphors, once again in SeSk point of view) and forces of Non-Consciousness (Thurisaz (metaphoric frost giants, as well as the sons of Muspell, designed to represent forces of inertia, enthropy, but also dynamic natural forces... Thurses are natural event, uncouscious, and represented in norse mythology by frost giants, known for their stupidity).
10-To chose the way of light, to chose the way of darkness, to think Thurisaz are rulers (or slaves) and are linked to darkness , and to think gods are rulers, linked to light, or that they may help you is then pure mistake. It is a monotheist point of you poisonned in your mind by the so called sons of yahveh.
11-No one will help you, you have to improve yourself to reach wisdom. No time to lose for weak souls, no compromise.
12-Searing Skull hails Nature and its forces of Darkness and Light, extinguishing the weakened flame of naive believers.
13-Some Searing Skull songs are taking place in a world beyond this one. This is to represent my deep reject of actual human values, trying to break the Equilibrium.
14-Thor's hammer is used as a sign of force and will to prevail.
