About Me

The name's Aaron. I recently graduated from THE Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (emphasis in Law Enforcement). Right now I'm just hanging out enjoying my post-college freedom, and living the Texas lifestyle (big trucks, fast women, field parties, sunsets, guns, hill country rivers, etc). Having lots of fun, though I don't see myself living in la Republica de Tejas forever..."the mountians are calling and I must go." Until then, load up the beer, BBQ, bait, guns, poles, and sleeping bags because we are heading for the hill country tonight!!!
This pretty much sums it up...
"Nothing worthwhile was ever accomplished without the vision to start, the enthusiasm to continue and, regardless of temporary obstacles, the persistence to complete."
--Waite Phillips
"I heard a phrase not too long ago that pretty well captures my philosophy of life: 'If you aren't living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.' It has nothing to do with thrill-seeking. It's about making the most of every moment, about stretching your own boundaries, about being willing to learn constantly and putting yourself in situations where learning is possible-sometimes even critical to your survival. Being out on the edge, with everything at risk, is where you learn - and grow - the most."
--Jim Whittaker
"Live each day as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance towards the summit puts the goal in mind. Many beautiful scenes can be observed from each new vantage point. Climb steadily, slowly, enjoy each passing moment; and the view from the summit will serve as a fitting climax to the journey."
--Joe Porcino
"You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least know."
--Rene Daumal
"...if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."
--Henry David Thoreau
"It's hard to argue with someone who is calm."
--Texas Ranger Captain Gerald W. Hildebrand (retired)
"I never made a promise I could not keep, and I never made a threat I could not carry out."
--Texas Ranger Captain Gerald W. Hildebrand (retired)
"A lot of people are waiting for Martin Luther King or Mahatma Gandhi to come back -- but they are gone. We are it. It is up to us."
--Marian Edelman
"I hate rude behavior in a man. Won't tolerate it."
--Lonesome Dove
"Now remember, things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean. I mean plumb, mad-dog mean. 'Cause if you lose your head and you give up then you neither live nor win. That's just the way it is."
--The Outlaw Josey Wales
"And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him."
--Revelations 6:8
"Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them to become what they are capable of being."
--Goethe
"Is anybody happier because you passed his way?
Does anyone remember that you spoke to him today?
The day is almost over, and its toiling time is through;
Is there anyone to utter now a kindly word of you?
Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that's slipping fast,
That you helped a single brother of the many that you passed?
Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said;
Does the man whose hopes were fading, now with courage look ahead?
Did you waste the day, or lose it?
Was it well or sorely spent?
Did you leave a trail of kindness or a scar of discontent?
As you close your eyes in slumber, do you think that God will say,
'You have earned one more tomorrow by the work you did today?'"
--John Hall
"The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities."
--Ayn Rand
"The mountians are calling and I must go."
--John Muir

Yup, that pretty much sums it up. :-)

TEXAS COUNTRY first and foremost - because I can relate to it so much (beer drinkin', back country roads, Texas sunsets, huntin', fishin', lifted 4x4 trucks, etc). Secondly would be metal and hard rock which is what I grew up on. Nowdays, I pretty much listen to EVERYTHING.
