June 2007 : DJ LEONARD @ GAY PRIDE 2007 PARIS :
Passionate about music in general Dj Leonard began in 1998 with the mixes hip hop and scratch but turns quickly to the house in 1999, when he hosted his first parties. Between 1999 and 2002 it’s a funky house that Dj Leonard plays several times in Factory's (Bastille), Purple (Bastille), the OPA (Bastille), Bataclan and in many other places... In August 2000 he won the SFR Dj Contest Cup in Sainte Maxime (France) earning him playing in front of 2,000 people. In 2002 he was a resident of Bal Electro, monthly evening at the Traverse (Paris). The sets of Leonard then became deep and groovy but still directed towards the dancefloor. The concept of Bal Electro is the meeting each evening with the DJ and one or more musicians. So naturally that he meets Orsten (electronic musician and keyboardist) and Ludovic Beier (accordionist known). From that meeting was born the project LA CASA MENTHE(on the label Menthe Productions) on the same principle as the party, it means the meeting of the electronic music and jazz musicians. Two realeases then see the light of day: Haitari and Kitara in 2003. These productions give rise to many lives in 2003: at the Cheers party (Paris), at the Parc de la Villette (Scène d’été 2003, Paris) and La nuit Blanche 2003 (Paris) that Leonard participates as a dj. Dj Leonard officiates from the sandstone proposals in various locations in Paris: Notably a residence in Pachyderme (Paris), and on several occasions the Mercerie (Paris, Oberkampf). In 2007 he participated in the Gay Pride in Paris (Marche des fiertés) on the chariot of “Democracy & Courage†grouping associations as Sida Info Service, ECLS, LMDE, the Federation Moules Frites House ... A dj set of 4 hours between Monparnasse and the Bastille... Since 2005 it ensures a residency at the Kabanito (Paris).
