TAPIR GETS ANGRY came from Udine (Italy) in 1990. Four originals members (Charlie Tiziani vocals, Paolo Della Negra guitar, Stefano Malisan bass and Joe Polisi drums) recorded on 1991 their first demo, an interesting medley of hard-rock and psychedelic sounds that received positive reviews on italian rock magazines. Italian label Dracma Records invited Tapir Gets Angry to record a new track for "Nightpieces 2", an important hard rock Italian compilation. The band recorded the song "Fallin' apart", who got several regards from musical experts and the band also took part to many TV shows. On 1993 they signed for Dracma Records and the band recorded in Turin (summer 1994) his first album "Fake", an explosive mixture of metal, grunge, hard-rock and psychedelic sounds, supported by the "Left to right" single and a videoclip. Many important italian rock magazines wrote enthusiastic reviews, Videomusic TV shot and interviewed the band while performing live in Milan. At the edge of popularity, frontman Charlie was forced to give up because of health troubles (drug-addiction), that was a very strong blow for Tapir. The band stopped touring and took a long break before taking any decision. After many auditions, Tapir chose Kelly Gray (Gran'ma Monkey, La Roxx) as new singer. On 1997 the band recorded his second album "It", but Tapir was not completed satisfied about results, so after the promotional tour the band decided to have a new breathing space. On 2003 original members Joe (drums) and Stefano (bass) decided to re-form the band, so they started several new auditions and they got right sound with the guitarist Emiliano Pressacco (Dagh) and the singer Max Zilli (Prowlers). The new line-up immediatly started working for new material and playing live on summer festivals. On winter 2004-2005 the band toured Italy and U.K. performing live at London's "Barfly" (supporting Toy Town Cash). Tapir Gets Angry spent the second part of 2005 for songwriting and recording his new EP-album "TAPIR GETS ANGRY", released on 2006 summer, an exciting wall of sound dressed by sharp riffs, melodies and right dose of psychedelic sounds. Unfortunately fate was cruel again. On 11 September 2006 the original member Stefano Malisan died on tragic car crash. Band was hardly upset and everyone seriously considered giving up, but Joe and Max decided to continue as the best celebration of Stefano’s memory. They selected the new bass player (Piero Boschi from Sana Lepsky), while Emiliano was replaced by a new guitarist (Matteo Floreani from Alchimilla). On November 2006 the band was proud to embrace another original member again, the guitarist Paolo Della Negra. On 2007 Tapir Gets Angry are stronger than ever, dirty and nasty as never been before, ready to tread best european stages with his metal-psychedelic-acid-hard rock sound. Are you ready to be swept away?

Who knows what did happen to him?!? Because we have not found out the reason so far, after fifteen years of carrier. Promise of the Italian underground stopped at the beginning, and with two professional albums recorded in the past, Tapirs are now coming back to the demo, trying to find out a label available to publish something new. That should be not difficult, looking at the good result achieved with these six tracks. What with the morbidity of Alice in Chains (main reference) and their own skills, when the singer Max decides to sing in Italian, recalling Ritmo Tribale, Tapirs express themselves in a highly professional way through a psychedelic grunge that seems coming directly from Seattle. With sounds, technique, production and songwriting that place the band one step higher than all the bands reviewed in the last months by Subterranea.
