Although I can't recommend drugs, booze, violence or insanity... It's worked for me! -Hunter S. Thom

About Me

I recently ran a contest to see who could send me a really, really cool picture of a girl making out with a robot. Unfortunately, only three people entered. I was going to tier the wins, and award only the best, but without adequate sampling, I feel the the only just way to handle this is to award all entries equally.
The winners receive this prize: To be the star of a 20-page short fiction written by me dealing with very strange and post-modern/dadaist themes.
Also: I promised to remove all the stuff from my profile and post the top three winners. Having received only three entries, all of them will be appearing. (actually, one contestant sent me many entries, they will remain on my blog)
So, within two weeks, I will write a 20 page story! With three main characters!!! Whew, tough times ahead. Thank you everyone for entering!

PS:This was an interesting experience with people who said they'd get something in but didn't. I guess I'm not used to that.... ..

My Interests

I'm interested in wisdom, freedom, power, (in the best sense), love, hate, truth, philosophy, sex, surfing, video games, martial arts (of the Chinese Variety) comics (Web and Printed) film, and CULTURE JAM!!!

I'd like to meet:

Late Entry:

1st Entry Received:

2nd Entry Received: by Brita

3rd(ish) Entry Received:

Music:

I like Music, mostly of the electronic variety. You probably wouldn't understand. Also Beirut, Angelo Badalamenti, Phillip Glass, Curtis Mayfield, David Bowie, Trent Reznor, Dr. Dre, George Clinton, Thomas Bangalter, Jimi Hendrix, Dangermouse, Ravi Shankar, Richard D. James, Case Tanner, and the Polyphonix Spree, Joe LeCompte

Movies:

I like Film, mostly of the intelligent kind. Some stupid movies are great, though. David Lynch, Christopher Nolan, Michael Gondry, Daron Aaronofsky, Sophia Coppola (and her father, I guess... lol), David Cronenberg, Coen Brothers, Wachowski brothers, Quentin Tarantino, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Oliver Stone, Stanley Kubrick, Akira Kurosawa, Alfred Hitchcock, Takeshi "Beat" Kitano, Tsui Hark, Yuen Wu Ping... There's just so many great film directors...

Television:

Star Trek. Metalocalypse. Venture Brothers. Seinfeld. South Park(sigh). Family Guy(sigh also). Futurama. Sealab 2021. Battlestar Gallactica.

Books:

Illuminatus. Sandman, Lucifer and Hellblazer are my favorite comics. I like role playing game books. Machiavelli's the Prince, and Plato's Republic. Dan Clowes, Neil Gaiman, Robert Anton Wilson, Anais Nin, Anne Rice, Stephen King(after having read the Dark Tower Series), Orson Scott Card, and Robert Jordan are good for fiction. Trevanian wrote the best book I've ever read, though. Shibumi is a novel espousing the meaning of the title word Shibumi: "...shibumi has to do with great refinement underlying commonplace appearances. It is a statement so correct that it does not have to be bold, so poignant it does not have to be pretty, so true it does not have to be real. Shibumi is understanding, rather than knowledge. Eloquent silence. In demeanor, it is modesty without pudency. In art, where the spirit of shibumi takes the form of sabi, it is elegant simplicity, articulate brevity. In philosophy, where shibumi emerges as wabi, it is spiritual tranquility that is not passive; it is being without the angst of becoming. And in the personality of a man, it is . . . how does one say it? Authority without domination? Something like that."

Heroes:

Aleister Crowley, Sarah Mae, Isaac Hayes, Parliament Funkadellic, Trevanian, Jesus, NeilStephenson, Aphex Twin, Trent Reznor, Dr. Dre, Shawn Farrell, Lucifer (from the comic bookby the same name), God, Michael Jackson, John Constantine, Rob Zombie, Socrates, JamesBrown, Noam Chomsky, Scott Turney, The Dust Brothers, Satan (not from the comic book), Allthe greek gods and goddesses, George W. Bush, Charlize Theron, Madonna, The Lords of Acid,Dr. Strange, Robert Anton Wilson, Cronenberg, Tom Jones, Vanilla Ice (no...wait...fuckhim) Hunter Thompson Jean Paul Sartre Sophia Coppola Ishmael Reed Madonna Aleister Crowley, looking QUITE mad Beats Anais Nin Bruce Lee and Wing Chun Grandmaster YipMan Vladimir Nabokov Robert Anton Wilson - R.I.P. Timothy Leary Friedrich Nietzsche Langston Hughes Henry Miller Bob Dobbs
