In the early 1990's, Mr George Melas the founder and Chief Executive Director of Waterworld Holdings Ltd ang G.L.F. Melas Ltd, had a vision to create a leisure facility here in Cyprus that would be a market leader in the industry. His vision became reality when, after much planning and considerable hard work, Waterworld Waterpark opened its doors to the public in 1996. Waterworld Waterpark has rapidly become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Cyprus, Europe, with over one million guests to date. Waterworld Waterpark is owned by G.L.F. Melas Ltd (Melas Group of Companies) and Richard Hill. WaterWorld is a part of the World Waterpark Association (WWA) , I.A.P.P.A. and the European Waterpark Association (EWA), which The chief Executive Officer of Marketing, Mrs Suzanne Melas was the president from 2002 till 2006. The park has already received 19 international awards for its imagination, marketing strategies and appearance. Its theming, based on ancient Greek mythology, and the many facilities it offers, ensures a very pleasant day out for our guests and a comfortable environment for all who work there. Careful planning and a phased growth of the park has meant that it has offered something new for our guests each season, whilst maintaining a high profile in the leisure industry.
