There's a gift in your lap and it's beautifully wrapped and it's not your birthday. You feel wonderful, you feel like somebody knows you're alive, you feel fear because it could be a bomb, because you think you're that important. When you open the wrapping (there's no card), you find a bowl, a green bowl with a white interior, a bowl for fruit or mixing. You're puzzled, but obediently put four bananas inside and then go back to whatever you were doing before: a crossword puzzle. You wonder and hope this is from a secret admirer but if so, you think, why a bowl? What are you to learn and gain from a green and white fruit bowl? This is when you think about the last lover you had and feel bad about yourself. This is when you stand with your pencil poised over the crossword puzzle and stare at the wall. This is when you laugh out loud, alone, to yourself, at something funny this lover said once about crossword puzzles and feel ridiculous for still being able to be entertained by that lover of yore who slept facing the wall and wanted less then you wanted...you want a lot.
----------Well in a perfect world I'd like to meet (real)vegan, sarcastic, equalists, who don't bore me, don't lie to me and aren't flaky but since that's never going to happen. I'll take 5 out of 6...ok, 4 out of 6...um let's make it 3 out of 6...oh crap let's be realistic at this point if I could find someone who had 2 out of 6 of these qualities I'd be ecstatic. ;-) ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------------- "A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of our consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------ If you're a fan of Ben Is Dead you might want to click on the box below and check out my sister's new webzine.--------------------

I don't have any because there is no one that has all the qualities I admire. Nor do I think we should look up to an individual like that. God, hero...yuk. I do though admire certain aspects of certain individuals and they are...Susan B. Anthony, George Orwell, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Albert Einstein. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------------------------
