atlas dusk

Atlas dusk is a hip hop band out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Atlas dusk was created by MC Mike Saeger, aka Tense One, and keyboardist bilal jones in 2000. Releasing there first CD in 2002 titled “daytimes”. “Daytimes” is a 7 song EP heavily influenced by jazz music with a hip hop beat and rhyme over it. In 2004 the group decided to add a full 6 piece band to play live shows. In 2005 the now six piece band put out a full length record titled “This is What We Do“. With this album they built a strong following with local shows and toured around the Midwest. In 2007 the 6 piece band went into the studio and recorded another album “Proof of Purchase” with well known guests including Pigeon John, Mike Gunther, Nomi of Kill the Vultures/Power Struggle, Sims of Doom Tree, and Desdemona. After selling out the first two shows they decided to go their separate ways. In 2008 Mike Saeger, aka Tense One, decided to put out one last album titled “When I Grow Up“. Mike decided not to find another band but to instead make it a solid hip hop album produced by several producers on myspace. The new album Atlas dusk “When I Grow Up” is a free downloadable cd. Tracks like “skate like 88” and “my space pimping” give this album a humorous look at the artists adaptations to his current lifestyle. There is also a bonus remix of the track “con man” originally from the “Proof of Purchase” album.
