About Me

I’ve had a passion for music all my life. I was never sure in which field of music I was going to land up in. Guitarist? Bass player? Drummer?... So far it has been none of the above. It has been in the world of house music, and as a disc jockey at that. Who knows where this will take me, but all I know, is that I won’t give up until I’ve tried…
About my DJ’ing carrier:
I have always had an interest in the - playing music at parties thing - and it seems to have got me far in this country. I have been dj’ing for 9 years now and 6 of those years I have been playing professionally.
What I have under my belt:
I started playing @ house parties before I broke into the scene here in S.a. from those house gigs I started doing regular Thursday nights at Picassos in Rosebank (JHB). Those went very well and I had a lot of fun doing those nights on minimum, minimum wage. But back then, it was never about the money. From there I played at places like Reality/Insanity, 115 Anderson and Sublime (PLUS MANY MORE). Over the years I have seen clubs open and close, make and break. You name a club in Jozi and I have gigged there.
Places other than Jozi town:
Albufeira (Portugal)
Ponta d ouro (Mozambique)
Maputo (Mozambique)
Caprice (Cape Town)
Opium (Cape Town)
Baraza (Cape Town)
52 (Port Elizabeth)
Name a style and genre, and I have tried it. Mid tempo, deep house, tribal house, tech house, hard house, trance, progressive house…. I guess one could say I have a passion for everything. What do I play then? Good house music!!!! My motto - even advice - to any dj out there: time and place!!
There is always the right time and place to drop any track!!
Timing is everything!!
Apart from gigs, I have also ventured into throwing my own parties with various crew members, at various venues. These have had their ups and downs, but I have never become despondent and will still continue to bring the love back to the party scene. The next step for any DJ wanting to move upwards in their carrier, when you have reached the point of no return, like myself, is: production!! It’s gotta be done, not all DJs make good producers and vice versa - it’s a talented few. Now the time for me has come, to try my skills in the world of digital music making!!
See y’all at the top ;)
