I was born in the desert to a Hawaiian man and his foxy haole wife, learned to waterski and ride a dirtbike before I tried on a pretty dress...Faddah needed to get back home, so came home to the big island, and have found deep roots here, in the ocean, the land and na po'e kahiko Hawaii. Somewhere along the way, found a love for the written word (must be the Irish in me...I like dark beer too) and a well-cut dress. I know...I'm a constant pardox, choosing tiny dresses and skate shoes, slide-tackles and glittery lipgloss (oh yah, spent more than half of my life playing soccer...but surfing took over, and I have since deteriorated into a weak player...but my surfing has improved) baking cookies and standing up for my rights as a woman. I love to find the balance, I love to search for it, find it, lose it, search again and achieve harmony...it's a lot like waveriding, or sailing canoes (which changed my life...mahalo Makali'i, Uncle Clay and Uncle Chad and everyone else). I love my family, My grandmother is the picture of what I hope to be, my mama has impeccable style and the best laugh this side of the mississippi, my faddah passed on a smooth surfing style and the ideal of goodwill, my braddah is a rat, a writer, a surfer, a fimmaker, a musician, a philosopher, coffee connoisseur. Keo is my chosen family, my favorite, my toughest audience, my personal comedian, and smartest, best person I know. And then there's everyone else who amaze me daily.
