Colin Fletcher and Jane Griffiths play traditional and original tunes on guitar and fiddle. Their unique style draws on classical, jazz, and folk influences, and their music has been described as 'stunning' and 'spell-binding'.
Jane studied classical violin and piano at the prestigious Chetham's School of Music before discovering music sessions in Oxford's infamous Elm Tree pub (since demised), whereupon she decided that it's much more fun playing music without the dots!
Colin's musical experiences began in the back seat of a Morris Minor on long journeys to far-flung boggy parts of the British Isles, singing traditional songs with sister Kate and brother Jon. Aged 13, he hid for six weeks and re-appeared having taught himself to play the guitar.
Colin and Jane began playing together after meeting at Oxford's legendary Catweazle Club. Since then, they have appeared at folk clubs and festivals all over the country, both as a duo and accompanying singer-songwriters Lisa
Fitzgibbon, Jon Fletcher, Abbie Lathe, Matt Sage, and many others. Colin also plays bass with BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winner Van Eyken, and Jane has recorded with many well-known musicians including Toni Collette and Maddy Prior. Colin and Jane have recently started working with sublime Oxford-based band Telling the Bees.
