Anything Fish Shape was once a band but is now just me. I have carried on using the name because I feel it indicates I have no set style as such. I get an idea, I work on it and if I like the results I record it.I have been writing music for about 20 years and this latest selection comes from my self produced instrumental CD "Head In The Clouds". I apologise that the quality is not great but understand I have no professional kit at all, just a cheap Yamaha PSR keyboard, a Korg midi module, a semi-acoustic guitar and a cornet. I have no software or fancy studio kit what-so-ever, I literally record everything live using nothing more fancy than AVrack on the computer. Man, I would love to find out what I could do with real kit.I primarily compose instrumentals but do from time to time come out with a song. Since (so say) completing my CD inspiration keeps flooding to me and I am currently working on more new material, and re-working some old as well. I know its not mainstream but I hope you enjoy it none the less.I have just added one of the band for old times sake, Fantasy remains to this day my personal favorite. All music copyright to AFS Music.World Visitor Map

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Most of this latest selection of tunes comes from my instrumental repetoire which means its just me, myself and I. All instrumental tracks written performed and produced by me, Steve Yorke. Fantasy is the exception and remains my personal favorite of the songs I have written. Vocals me (sorry!), guitar David Lee, keyboards and backing vocal Jules Holbrook, bass Richard Boyce and Drums Trees Hatton.
Influences: Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Marillion, Jean-Michel Jarre, James Last, Vangelis, Fish, oh yeah, and The Cricklade Band to name but a few. Far too many to list off the top of my head.
Sounds Like: Take 4oz of Jarre and whisk in 1pnt of Vangelis. Add a tablespoon of James last and listen for 30mins on gas mark 4. To serve, sprinkle with a light dusting of Ravel.
Record Label: unsigned
