About Me

.. I am quite possibly too much for even myself to handle. I'm living large, in multiple figurative and literal interpretations of the phrase. I love scotch. I love the slam, bang, tang reminiscent of gin and vermouth. I make the single driest martini on the planet, one unsullied by olives or the uncouth greasiness of olive juice, but caressed by a touch of lemon oil from a twist of the zest of a lemon. I love a good cigar and the excitement of pressing the field and hitting the big streak. I love Frank, Dino, Sammy, Bogie, Lawford and Bishop. I'm an older soul, one who should be in his early 30s, but in the mid to late 60s. I have, can and sometimes still will rock the fedora. I have, can and currently am rockin' the 'stache.
Kindred souls, fans of the Rat Pack and
lovers of martinis may reach me at the following:

I think we've been through a period where too many people have been given to understand that if they have a problem, it's the government's job to cope with it. 'I have a problem, I'll get a grant.' 'I'm homeless, the government must house me.' They're casting their problem on society. And, you know, there is no such thing as society. There are individual men and women, and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look to themselves first. It's our duty to look after ourselves and then, also to look after our neighbour. People have got the entitlements too much in mind, without the obligations. There's no such thing as entitlement, unless someone has first met an obligation - Margaret Thatcher (1925 - )
A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. - Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882)
Whatever advice you give, be brief. - Horace (65 BC - 8 BC)
We need anything politically important rationed out like Pez: small, sweet, and coming out of a funny, plastic head. - Dennis Miller
