And Common's new cd is tight! "testify" is the shyt. Also, Eryka Badu. Mostly, I like soul music that lifts the heart and puts some reflection in the mind...like Common, Nas, BB King, Goapele, Mos Def (most definitely!). I really like jazz, especially Sade.....but jazz works only at certain times....you know...the kind you just listen to when its downtime...relaxation. I can handle some keek da sneak or some bow wow. Always with the tupac and e-40. and krs1 is tight. DMX is hella tight too...kinda crazy, but tight! haha...
but I'm not into that whole "ghetto gangsta-thug" music. It just doesn't cut it.
Movies:
Fakin' Da Funk with Donte Basco (Asain persuasion!)...that's like my alltime favorite movie next to Halle Berry's "Their Eyes Were Watching God" LET ME TELL YOU!!! if you haven't seen that movie YOU HAVE NOT LIVED!!!! it's by Harpo Films. Other favorites:Set it Off, Raising Victor Vargas,A Bronx Tale, Life, Tears of the sun...(SO SAD!!!), Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Lord of the Rings (I, II, & III) Menace II Society, Dangerous Minds... Music of the Heart.I mean, there are A LOT of others...but they aren't coming to my mind right now...the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith was hella tight.
Television:
I LOVE ALL OF US (UPN) ...that show it hella tight...just can't get enough of it!...the Real World is hella wack now but man...and during that one season, I'm STILL hella mad at Karamo for being gay too! I LOVE me some Law and Order. Criminal Intent or SVU...they're both tight...plus gotta be on that VH1 Soul! Mtv Punk'd is aight, depending on who's gettin punkd and um...i like the old school shows from way back when like family matters, fresh prince, and full house...and i love lucy...thats bout it..
