What did you say to me?

About Me

These days I usually find myself as either the oldest one in the room or the only female in the room, or both. Don't know why that happens so often, but it does. I have many interests and not enough time to fit them all in, but I try to anyway. I might be studying Esperanto one moment, helping to coach new amateur boxers the next moment, then singing in a cabaret club the following moment.

My Interests

Boxing, martial arts, singing, writing (including screenplays, theater plays and "confession" stories), acting, roller-skating, in-line skating, Christianity, mixed martial arts, self-defense (both physical and verbal)

Softkey Left softkey Right

I'd like to meet:

Mostly actors and musicians, such as George Clooney (he is so fine, and he is my age). I also like to meet those well known in Christian circles, such as Bible teacher Kay Arthur, and prominent business people (so I can learn how to be successful, too).

Music:

Classic R&B/Soul; jazz; classic rock; classic pop; standards; show tunes; cabaret; gospel; contemporary Christian; rap/hip-hop; adult contemporary; light classical

Ma Hated It, So It Must Be Good

I've mentioned before that my mother is not a big fan of TV, and she liked very little of what my siblings and I watched.  I have come to realize that I was probably watching a lot of TV shows si...

Stay At Home With The Kids? Uh, No

Some people feel that in light of the fact she has a special needs child, plus the fact her teenaged daughter is pregnant, that Sarah Palin should not have accepted the Republican VP spot.  In fa...

Shutting The Bullies Down

I was picked on a lot when I was a kid.  I caught drama, not only at school but at home from both parents, and to an extent, from my late younger sister.   Eventually, I learned to stan...

The Kids In The Squared Circle

I stopped into the gym today during the kids' boxing time.  As soon as I stepped inside the field house, I was grinning.  It felt good to be back inside the gym, if only to hang out.  A...

Speak To Him Girl

I just love songs where a woman is reading the riot act to a man who ticked her off.  My current favorite is "Take A Bow" by Rhinanna (not to be confused with the song of the same name by Madonna...

Saturday Mistake Fixing

My brain has moments where it doesn't register things.  If it had, I would have noticed the church bulletins for tomorrow's service were not right.  Pastor called me this morning to let me k...

Missing That Smell

It occurred to me that I haven't seen any of the guys from the boxing gym for a long time.  Of course, Coach now lives in another state, but of the guys who live nearby, I never run into them on ...

Hey Fellas, Find A New Game

I walked home from a friend's birthday party last night.  Passed a group of brain-dead teenage boys who felt the need to negatively comment on my body type and looks.  That hasn't happen, we...

No Cooking Here

I'm watching a movie called "Women Of The Year".  There's a scene where Katheryn Hepburn, playing a throughly modern newspaper reporter, is trying to make up to her husband (Spencer Tracy) by mak...
