PLEASE DONT DRINK AND DRIVEThis page is here, so everyone can see what was taken from my bro James, all because someone drove drunk..I am hoping anyone who sees this page can learn something from our family tragedy. Katie and James Jr were killed by an" alleged" drunk driver on 4/22/06. I've known James since I was a baby and his family took me in as one of thier own as they do with many people, just as they did with Katie. Before that day, I had never seen him so happy, as he was. And it was taken from him in a second. Despite what people think about the pictures of the baby in the casket being up, I don't care...and I'm not taking them down. They are not up here for anyone else, they are up here for James who wanted everyone to see what this man took from him. His perfect baby boy. He was just that...a perfect baby boy, who was taken from us because of someone elses careless and STUPID choice to drink and drive. A family is now torn and suffers EVERY day. Losing them was basicly losing a sister in law and nephew 2 me.....we have all gone through it together, and have managed to continue on with our lives, as hard as it is. But, we shouldnt have to. We should have to because they should still be here with us.

Katie had her own struggles in life, as we all do, but she was such a strong person and I always looked up to her for that and she always pushed me to be a stronger person as well. The last couple years of her life were much better for her. She was engaged to the love of her life, She had her first child on the way. She wanted nothing more in life than to be a mother and from the day she found out she was pregnant, all she prayed for was a boy. She got her baby boy, and has him forever safe in her arms, in a place where there is no sadness and suffering. Heaven got 2 of the most beautiful angels that day. As hard as it is, I try to find as much comfort as I can in the fact that she has her son with her, and they will be there waiting for us.
Everything she had lived for up until April 22, 2006 was taken away from her in an instant. In that same instant, the lives of so many people were FOREVER changed. Grandparents were denied thier first grandchild, brothers denied thier first nephew, family and friends denied the chance of watching James Jr grow up. As hard as it is to share this story with people, I am hoping that EVERYONE will learn something from it. Katie's story has touched the lives of so many people, and I am hoping that it will continue to do that.
Every day is a new struggle for each and every one of us without Katie, but I have not and will not give up the fight against drunk driving because I know that if she was still here she would constantly be on my case about it, and pushing me to keep going. Yeah she was such a sweet person, but not someone you wanted to get mad :-D So, for her and James Jr and everyone affected by this tradegy, I have taken it upon myself to use this as an example of what drinking and driving really does to people.this is how I roll....dont make someone elses family have to roll like this, because of YOUR STUPID CHOICE /3
