I am here for Dating, Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm 26 years of age, living it up in sunny Liverpool where I reside in the heart of the Dingle - this is where I've lived all my life and I'm damn proud of it! Although I did run away to America last year for a few months to 'find myself' lol. And that I did. Been back for nearly a year now but still can't believe some of the things I saw and did! And don't really wanna be back here now when I could be in the states eating Pumpkin Pie and enjoying the festivities as they were intended. But there you go, I love Liverpool anyway!Last year I had my first play produced, then published (see below) and I'm now developing the film project based on the same premise. Only bigger, better, louder, get ready for Paradise Bound because it's going to be slapping you across the face rather soon I should hope. Look out for the myspace for that, coming soon! When I'm not discussing life, love and the universe with my band of merry friends, I'm hard at it writing and trying not to get distracted by facebook or, indeed, myspace. And here I am again, grrrr. Must dash.

Check out this amazing project, is there anything you can do to help? You'd be surprised. It doesn't just take donating money to be part of something big and amazing. I'm finding that out myself, hope you can too.

My Interests

Writing, travelling, socialising, cinema, theatre, going out with mates, chilling out with mates, spending time with fambo, people-watching...

I'd like to meet:

Likeminded people - film buffs, music buffs, general down to earth normal people from wherever in the world. Other writers would be good, and musicians and whoever really. Love the creative types but I find everyone fits that category when you scratch the surface so the more the merrier. Incidentally if any of you look like the star of my profile you can have my phone number, hehe ;-)

Music:

Madonna, Annie Lennox (have you heard SING yet?), Millie Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Cat Stevens, Arcade Fire, Emmylou Harris, Patsy CLine, Dixie Chicks, Kylie Minogue, Girls Aloud, Siobhan Donaghy, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, Keyshia Cole, Mary J, Sheryl Crow, Patti Smith, Stevie Nicks, NeYo, the list is endless, tends to be a mix of hot black men, fierce divas and depressing country singers...

Movies:

Halloweem, Thelma and Louise, Marx Bros, Taxi Driver, Kill Bill, Jackie Brown, Walkabout, Don't Look Now, Picnic At Hanging Rock, My Own Private Idaho, Godfathers, All About My Mother, Kika, Volver, Live Flesh, Desperately Seeking Susan, The Goonies, The Exorcist, The Descent, Bride of Frankenstein, Bully, Pan's Labyrinth, Talented Mr Ripley, Syriana, Mean Girls, Clueless, 10 Things I Hate About You, Mysterious Skin, Lost Highway, Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, Escape From New York, The Fog, Fist of Fury, Enter The Dragon, The Big Boss, Brokeback Mountain, Donnie Darko, Distand Voices Still Lives, The Misfits, Rebel Without A Cause, Strangers on a Train, Psycho, THE BIRDS, Rear Window, If These Walls Could Talk 2... God need I go on...

Television:

Eagerly awaiting L Word Season 5, recently converted to Hollyoaks, Simpsons is the greatest show ever made so will always watch that. Ab Fab and Cell Block H were responsible for my becoming a diva-obsessed hom. Oh and I like to unwind with Corrie when I can... OH and the X Factor, although wearing thin with it's manipulative sob stories and over use of Westlife music, still entertains!

Books:

Anne Rice, Stephen King, Toni Morrison, Maya Angelou, Paulo Coelho, Annie Proulx, Raymond Carver (sorry, that's AUTHORS as opposed to books) Salem's Lot, Beloved, Song of Solomon, Heart Songs, Bad Dirt, Vampire Chronicles, Short Cuts, The Alchemist, Memoirs of a Geisha, Wuthering Heights, Z for Zachariah. And so on.

Heroes:

Madonna, Oprah, Maya Angelou, MLK Jr, James Dean, Wes Craven, John Carpenter, David Lynch, Pedro Almodovar, George Clooney, all the authors named in the Books section, Jennifer Saunders, Vic Wood, Aaron Spelling bless his soul, anyone who goes against the grain and makes a difference, anyone who goes with the flow but makes a difference anyway, my parents, a couple of my friends who shall remain nameless, and the ultimate hero... HOMER SIMPSON!

And The Beat Goes On

So Christmas is fast approaching and here I am sitting here listening to Christmas tunes to get myself in the swing of things. So far it's working, they're not driving me to thoughts of suicide AT ALL...

Homotopia is here!   So last night myself and my two housemates braved the rain and joined the gathering of homosexualists descending on the Hope Street Hotel Resident's Bar. Or, as Sarah Ogle fr...

How Great Was My Valley

So it's come to this. Friday nights in. Sigh. It's funny, I haven't had a Friday night out now for 5 weeks (discounting last Friday but I didn't drink then so it doesn't count). And yet if I allow mys...

Writers Block. If I suffer, y'allll suffer x

'La Cienega Just Smiled' by Ryan Adams is one of the most gorgeous songs I've heard. First heard it years ago, when I bought the Gold album in my throes of country passion for this drug and drink-fuel...

Young Adam

So I originally changed my page layout to a homoerotic image of Julian McMahon but what seemed like a good idea at the time turned out quite tacky. So I went with a Donnie Darko montage instead, still...
