Freebase Records was founded 1994 in Frankfurt's university district Bockenheim, in a time when vinyl was slowly dying three guys had the crazy idea to establish a new records shop, crazily enough it was a success. Specialising in dance music was the key and naturally most of the guys worked as Djs. After moving downtown the roster became broader, initially Carsten Schuchmann aka Meat and Miguel Ayala managed the daily sales, later Bernd Maus, Dorian Paic, Arno Völker aka Einzelkind(with Miguel) and many more Djs were part of the team. Freebase is and always has been about good music (or what we consider that) and until now the motto stayed the same; einfache Musik für einfache Leute.....
