As the sunsets on the waters edge
I feel the serenity that is life
Walking on the shoreline..I feel the strife
Of endless nights of lost sleep
With all the memories that are mine to keep
I hear the waves touching the shore
As if to wash the pain away
Such anquish...mine I think forevermore
As I sit and watch the sunset
The colors of red and orange
Invade my soul..hours spent
Leaning into the cool sand..body limp
I look the the sky and pray
Words come so easily it seems..
I know just what to say
A peace a hush it seems comes over me
I am surrounded by such love
The pain eases...the memories subside
I almost feel a presence
Giving me a shove
Morning light a new day
Eyes open and clear
I have no fear
Onward into this day I go
With life shining a bright glow
A smile comes to my face
A happiness...enough to make my heart race
All is well..never alone
I turn and walk the pathway home
