At a recent concert, the audience sat patiently in the dark, waiting for the singer to come on stage. A spotlight came on, then another, and then Marco stepped on stage and the dark room lit up. Hailing from Tela Beach, Honduras, Matute began his performance career in the sleepy upstate New York community of Port Jervis, NY, where his promise and dedication quickly put him in the spotlight. Beginning as a supporting player, Matute quickly worked his way to lead status, taking on more challenging roles with each production.He has starred in such productions as On The Town (Ozzie), The Music Man (Oliver Hix), Runaways (Luis), The Emperor Jones (Brutus Jones), The Fantastiks (El Gallo), Tosca (Mario Cavadosi), and Madame Butterfly (Pinkerton).
