BIOGRAPHY
[ 2002 – 2004 ] Manikin Faint was founded on the summer of 2002 by Endre Tarjányi (vocal), Andor Sperling (guitar), Péter Bartha (drums) and György Gassama (bass). Our quest is to interprete and make rock music in a fresh and special way to fill in a strange (or nonexistent) gap in the Hungarian underground music scene. • A year later Péter Molnár became our new bassist and together we recorded the Green Is Not Your Enemy EP at the end of 2003. (There’s moving something within them and it’s not an alien-embrio, come on and be concerned!” – shockmagazin.hu) • This period was for improving our sound and concepts with a lot of concerts and writing songs. At the end of 2004 we recorded our new EP called Homegrown Seedless. It shows a much clearer view of our ideas about rock music.
[ 2005 – 2006 ] This EP was released only in february of 2005 and was well received by critics. („One of the most interesting domestic newcomers lately.” – shockmagazin.hu, „…imagine it as a creative, abstract and a bit schizophrenic music with complex and weird rhythms.” – heavymetal.hu) • In may we won the „Bestdemo 2004” award on the middle-European talentsearch of Music Revue magazine. Thank to this we appeared on the Runway 2004 Compilation cd spreaded Europe-wide. In June we joined the Country Metal group and appeared on its first compilation cd. • In 2006 we made our first concerts abroad (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria) and were invited to festivals like Wan2, Rockmaraton, Hanna-Hanna. • We ended the year with being one of the winners of the ABC talentsearch on the A38 Ship in Hungary.
[ 2007 ] We began this new year with a temporary drummer László Hortobágyi (from Isten Háta Mögött). The change was due to musical and personal conflicts. • In this form we played in Planet Music Hall in Vienna (the next round of ABC talentsearch) and in march we recorded our new EP called Tiny Wild Livingplace Improvement. This was made specially for international promotions and to show the actual state of the band. • From april Csaba Németh, jazz-drummer (Dav Trio, etc.) joined the band as the permanent drummer.
[IT IS OVER] Manikin Faint ended the exploration after Sziget 2007 gig. Keep us in Your hearts...
