I won my first singing competiton at the age of five with my sister Anne and brother Bertus.
I grew up on a farm in the Wesselsbron district and sang in every concert at school –
First at Nelsdrift Primary School and then during my high school years at Welkom Gimnasium.I excelled in sport (if I may say so myself), especially high jump & hurdles and also played for
The Northern Free State Junior Rugby Team.
I performed at all Eisteddfods and always received an A+.
In grade 11 I was chosen to sing with the Free State Youth Choir and was the soloist
and toured Europe. This was a blessing and confirmed my passion would become my career.At the age of 19 I won the OFM (then Radio Oranje) Song Talent Competition and
During that same year I won The Star Model of the Year.
I was also chosen by New Face Model Agency to do modeling in Milan.Since then I've been in Saudi Arabia working for the royal family and still works for them from time to time. This opportunity took me all over the world and I do enjoy sight seeing a lot!I was encouraged by my mom Mary to enter the Supersterre competition.
Out of more than 3500 entries I achieved the runner-up position winning a recording contract with a prestigious record company Sony/BMG.
My new cd, 'Onthou die Tye' has been released and already sold 5000 copies in the first two weeks.I love nature and especially visits the Kruger National Park.
I love my profession because I love people and is consider myself a loving, giving person.
